Joan Pulupa is one of two ZMBBI postdocs to ever secure MOSAIC (Maximizing Opportunities for Scientific and Academic Independent Careers) K99/R00 funding from the NIH. Her proposal is titled "Identifying the mechanism of olfactory receptor gene regulation in olfactory neurons with live-cell imaging". The MOSAIC program was designed to enhance diversity in academic biomedical research and is awarded to some of the most promising postdocs to ease the transition of starting their own labs within a few years. She was previously a Simons Junior Fellow. Many congratulations!
